So, this is the weather that some folks were waiting on. Well, it's here! It's about to get cold, start to snow, get all icy and slick out...blah!
I like fall but it seems like we barely had one. We had the weirdest weather this year. It's fair to say that the "nice" weather hung around for an extended amount of time. Just on this past Saturday, the temp got into the 70s. Just a few days away from the first of December. The first day of winter is just in a few weeks. So, really what happened to fall?
Because of the weather going back and forth, the leaves fell faster, the ladybugs hung around a lot longer and the acorns fell off the trees before they were all the way ripe. We have lots of Oak trees in my front yard (I say lots because there's like 3 lol). Those acorns hurt when they fall! The squirrels weren't eating them though, they just laid around on the ground. So weird.
Anyways, stay warm this winter folks. Please check on your elderly. I know, I know what it's like to be poor and just turn on the oven or light a fire in the fireplace and not turn the heat on in the house. This is not the way to live. If you pay Laclede every month, please select the option to donate money so that those without heat can have it in their homes this winter. The economy is still in the pits and for those who are still struggling to get their money right (raises hand), this winter is going to be particularly hard on folks. Trying to survive in this cold climate is not something we are accustomed to and some people try to go without a lot of necessities just to put food on the table or buy gifts for their loved ones on Christmas. Their sacrifice does not even compare to our sacrifice of a few dollars to donate heat to those in need.
